1. About These Terms
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the QR Trail platform and related services (“the Service”).
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
2. Who Operates the Service
QR Trail is currently operated as a UK-based independent project.
If the Service later operates through a registered business entity, these Terms will be updated accordingly.
3. Eligibility
You must
Be at least 18 years old to create an account, or
Use the Service under supervision of a parent, teacher, or event organiser
Children may participate in QR trails but should not provide personal information.
4. Accounts
If you register an account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details
You are responsible for all activity under your account
You must provide accurate information
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for misuse.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to
Use the Service for unlawful purposes
Attempt to bypass security or authentication measures
Interfere with or disrupt the platform
Attempt to access another user’s kit or data
Use automated tools to scrape or abuse the system
Upload or create offensive, abusive, or harmful content
Impersonate another person
We may suspend access immediately if we believe these rules are violated.
6. User Content (Nicknames & Clues)
You are responsible for any content you submit, including
Nicknames
Trail names
Clue text
You must not submit
Offensive or obscene material
Personal data of others
Defamatory content
Hate speech
We reserve the right to remove content without notice.
7. Intellectual Property
All software, design, branding, and platform functionality remain the property of QR Trail.
You retain ownership of the content you create (e.g. your clues), but grant us a licence to store and display it for the operation of the Service.
You may not
Copy or reverse-engineer the platform
Reproduce QR Trail branding without permission
8. QR Code Usage
QR codes generated by the platform
Are for use within your own trail activities
Must not be used to mislead, deceive, or conduct unlawful activities
Must not be resold without permission
9. Leaderboard & Competition Mode
Where leaderboard mode is enabled
Scores are based on system events
We do not guarantee that scores are error-free
We reserve the right to reset or remove scores if abuse is detected
10. Availability
We aim to keep the Service available, but
We do not guarantee uninterrupted access
We may suspend access for maintenance
We may modify or discontinue features
11. Payments (Future Integration)
If paid features are introduced
Payments will be processed securely through Shopify
We will not store card details
Additional refund and purchase terms will apply
These Terms will be updated prior to any commercial launch.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law
The Service is provided “as is”
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss
We are not responsible for misuse of QR codes or user-created content
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
13. Data Protection
Use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if
You breach these Terms
You misuse the platform
Continued use poses security risks
You may stop using the Service at any time.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
Continued use of the Service after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
